Altripiani Travel

Altripiani is a photography, mountaineering, cultural, anthropological and linguistic research project looking to create new intersections and alternative paths.

Paths that don’t run from one city to another, but instead cross slowly over various mountain ranges and small villages, looking for new faces and the memories they tell.

Dinaric Alps

It is the mountain range that “overlooks” the Adriatic Sea, starting from Slovenia and ending in Albania, passing through Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo.

High Atlas

We didn’t warn Mhtar about our return and we didn’t know he had a phone hidden in his burnus. We came back to his douar taken for granted he was there. We knocked on the door but nobody opened.

Andes

The Cordillera of the Andes is the long spine of South America. Seven thousand kilometres of high mountains on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, it really amazes me.

Bangladesh

Our trip in Bangladesh started about a year ago when our friend Murad gave us the wonderful news of him getting married in his native village.

Carpathians

Traveling through the Carpathians was a real adventure, one of those that you can experience only if you are brave enough to move slowly and in “non-comfortable” places, with a big backpack always on your shoulders.

Caucasus

We would make our way across the Anatolian, Armenian and Iranian plateaus, hiking our way over the mountain ranges, walking along the same transhumance trails used by shepherds for thousands of years, crossing our paths, literally, with an immense spectrum of cultures, languages and religions.

Dolomites

The Dolomites are a dot, a straight line, a level curve, a circular route. The Dolomites are a picture of a happy family in August. The Dolomites are a crazy bath in the freezing water of a high mountain lake.
